| Tickets will be available beginning Thursday, July 10 at 8:00 p.m. in the Children’s Room of the Main Library, Parkville and Station Branches, and on Friday, July 11 at 9:00 a.m. at the Lakeville Branch. Great Neck School District residents receive program ticket preference. Library cards are required. If tickets remain, out-of-district Nassau County residents may obtain them beginning Thursday, July 17. All children nine years or younger must be accompanied by an adult. |

B’Twixt & B’Tween Returns |
A second season of cool workshops and special events for you! Youngsters entering 3rd and 4th grade are invited to sign up for an amazing roster of B'Twixt and B’tween Club Workshops. All Club activities will take place on Tuesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Experience the magic of chemistry. Combine a known substance (liquid starch) with other ingredients to create a new substance:…Flubber. It will stretch, bounce, squish and drip. Take your creation home. (60 minutes)

Ray Lackey was raised in western Pennsylvania on a small farm. His
grandfather used wood sections for
producing comb honey. Ray has been
keeping bees on Long Island for over 25 years. He will bring an observation hive with several thousand bees for viewing.

Babies Boogie

Welcome to the Great Neck Library's Babies Boogie, a freestyle dance jam. Attendees will dance and play instruments in an unstructured setting to baby-friendly music. (45 minutes)

At a Transformation Facepainting event every face is different. Each face is a creative work of art. Faces are painted so quickly—in three minutes or less—that it becomes performance art, as exciting to watch as it is to be painted. (60 minutes)

Circulation Department Clerk, Olga O’Neil has painted a series of windows for the Children’s Room of the Main Library to illustrate the “Catch the Reading Bug” 2008 Summer Reading Club.
Olga attended art school for four years in Siberia, Russia. Her work has been featured in exhibitions both in Russia and the U.S. Her portfolio includes varied subjects. Her paintings can be found on a variety of surfaces using mixed media. |
