The purpose of a community-wide reading event, or Big Read, is for people in the same community to read one book and discuss it.  The Library has chosen The Double Bind for its first community read because it's a real page turner, because it uniquely weaves a gripping present day story with Great Neck and Great Gatsby themes, because it is accessible to a wide range of readers, and because it is well written.  The Library is here to help you find the book, discuss the book, and organize activities that will enhance your personal experiences with the book.
