Consumer Health Complete™
The Library subscribes to several health sources in electronic format in order to provide information which is current and accurate. One of those online sources which has been renamed recently, Ebsco’s Consumer Health Complete, offers content covering all areas of health and wellness from mainstream medicine to complementary, holistic and integrated medicine. In addition to the full text of many
medical journals, you can search full text of over 200 medical reference books as well as images, diagrams and videos. A partial list of the medical encyclopedias will indicate the rich content of this resource.
• Complete Guide to Prescription & Nonprescription Drugs
• Cornell Illustrated Encyclopedia of Health
• Houghton Mifflin Patient’s Guide to Medical Tests
• Mayo Clinic Family Health Book
• Mayo Clinic Guide to Women’s Cancers
• Oxford Handbook on Child Nutrition
CREDO reference provides you with an extensive collection of reference publications in electronic format from over 50 publishers. In addition to the text, it includes images, maps and sound files.
Additional sources are continually being added to this research database. A list of current additions will illustrate the broad subject matter covered in this source:
Keywords and Concept in Evolutionary Developmental Biology
Late Antiquity: a guide to the post classical world
The New Americans: a guide to immigration since 1965
The New Harvard Guide to Women’s Health

Searching is easy.

Want to know where Consumer Reports can be found online? Or perhaps you have heard about a great article in the Journal of Educational Research. Electronic versions of many periodicals, which you may read on your own computer, can be located with A to Z.
A to Z will guide you to the appropriate database on the Library’s subscription list and even allow you to link to the full text of an individual issue of the periodical. Look for A to Z on the Library’s web page under the link Online Databases.
Not For Tourists
As is clear from the name, maps sold by this website will satisfy even savvy natives, and while all the print editions are for sale, many online maps, including New York’s five boroughs are offered free of charge.
The maps are accompanied by two types of lists: Essentials with landmarks, gas stations, emergency rooms, pharmacies, etc. and Sundries including restaurants, coffee shops, liquor and regular stores. Additional information and maps for each borough are subdivided into the following sections:
Transit, General, Sports and Arts and Entertainment.
