Levels Spotlight

Becka Shaktman

Becka Shaktman has an extremely rare skill for a teenager. She is exceptionally good at crochet. While in third grade, Becka started to pick up crochet from her fabulous mother. With designs inspired by Marvel and DC comics, movies such as Forrest Gump, Beetlejuice, and Yellow Submarine, and literature including The Picture of Dorian Grey, Alice in Wonderland, and the writings of Edgar Allan Poe, Becka's work is NOT the doilies and ugly sweaters of yesteryear. For anyone who wants to learn crochet, Becka has this advice. "I didn't learn overnight. Be patient, but if you need a break, I won't judge."

Here's some of Becka's work:

Can't wait to get your hands on some of Becka's handiwork? She currently has an Etsy page in the works, but until that goes live, you can attempt to find her on the streets of Great Neck or hanging out at Levels. Be careful though, she bites.

Levels...we do that.
